We love Dennis, and Dennis loves words!
Our beloved Dennis is turning 80 years old, and April Heaslip (alum, Mythological Studies Program) and Jennifer Leigh Selig (alum, Depth Psychology Program) are gathering together a tribute to Dennis in his favorite format—a book. Collecting the first 80 submissions, we’ll publish them in a book through Jennifer’s publishing company, Mandorla Books, and present the book to Dennis in person (TBA). Every morning, Dennis gets up early, drinks his coffee, and writes in his journal, using this prompt: What wants to be remembered from yesterday? We’ll use this same prompt, only narrow its topic (What wants to be remembered about Dennis?), broadening its timeframe from literal yesterday and into the yesterdays of his career. |
Submit up to 800 words (though it certainly doesn’t have to be that long--if it's longer though, we won't publish it). A favorite memory of Dennis, an anecdote or experience, a poem, anything goes! You may also submit one photograph to accompany your piece (photographs may be published in black and white, even if you submit in color). Just remember to anchor your submission to a memory or memories of your time with Dennis.
Please submit your file as a Word document. Tell us below in 50 words or less how you know Dennis. We'll use that to identify you in the publication.
