Mandorla's Author-Centric Publishing Model
Instead of a publisher-centric model where the publisher keeps 90-95% of the profits on sales of the books and pays out 5-10% in royalties to the author, Mandorla Books uses an inverted, innovative, author-centric business model, where authors pay a one-time fee for book layout, cover design, ISBN registration, Amazon and other online retail store placement, e-reader conversion, and promotion on Mandorla’s website. After publication, authors retain 100% of all sales royalties.
What this means for authors.
Let's say you set your book’s cover cost at $19.95. Your publisher may sell the book to Amazon at a discount of 55%, roughly $9.00. Your royalties, at the typically highest rate of 10%, would be 90 cents per book.
Publishing with Mandorla Books, where you keep all the royalties, means YOU would earn roughly $9.00 per book. This means you earn 10 times as much PER BOOK with Mandorla. If you sell two hundred books with a traditional publisher, you would earn $180 total. With Mandorla, you would earn $1,800.
An author publishing authors. It more than makes cents.

Please note: Mandorla is a curated press. Unlike other small subsidy publishing companies who will publish any title in exchange for a fee, Mandorla does not accept manuscripts that are not mission-centered or ready for publication. Editing services and/or referrals may be provided. Consultation is free. Please submit your query below to begin the conversation.
Also note: As a small, boutique press, Mandorla does not have the resources to market or publicize your book, other than placement on the website, and the creation of marketing tools such as flyers, postcards, and business cards. However, the publisher offers complimentary consultations about best practices and strategies for sales, and a password-protected webpage with marketing resources. The reality is, traditional publishers don't offer much more than that either, unless you have a huge social media platform and/or a track record selling books.
